Draw Me Near

Writing this song would prove to be the most unique songwriting experience I have ever had. The LORD often wakes me up in the middle of the night to write – songs or books. I love this time with Him. But the night when He inspired this song was to be a harbinger of the most difficult season of my life.

The songs He gives me are often prayers for others I do not know. But this song would prepare my heart to trust God when my own world fell apart. When life sends us pain, we can have victory if we draw near to God. All too often, though, we can turn away from God because we are confused by the hardship and don’t understand His heart in the trial. Don’t resist God and run away from Him – He is our ever-present help in time of need and He is for us. There is no hope apart from Him, but there is hope for all who draw near to Him. Your story is not over – draw near to God and see what He can do with our sorrows. He is faithful and will use everything for our good and His glory.

My faith – shatters like a mirror of glass,

For Your healing once again.
