Shame RX: Shame is not my identity.

One of the biggest lies of shame is that we are identified by our shame rather than in who we are in Jesus Christ. The finished work of Jesus Christ has covered every sin and shame. Right now we endure the shame our culture dishes out, learning how to approach shame biblically, but one day there will be no more shame.

Think of that – no more shame. When we are tempted to think our shame remains despite laying it at His feet, or man’s pernicious empty accusations, we can choose to accept Christ’s identity instead.

We are still in the sanctification process now, but positionally we are seated with Him. Blows my mind every time I think of that truth. So while we long for our heavenly bodies, we can boast in our weaknesses because God knows we need His grace. And when we are weak, we are strong in Christ. Shame off you, friends.
