Scripture of the Day:

1 Samuel 16:7

“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Shame RX:

God gave us eyes to see beauty, not to limit it. Beauty is not defined by one set of eyes or by many. God already defined our beauty by showing how worthy we were of His sacrificial love.

Anybody in here ever feel judged for your appearance? Like you have to look a certain way to be accepted?

This is an obvious reality for us as women, huh? Our culture defines worth by what we look like. But not God. In what ways do you feel you are judged for your appearance?
As a mother of three daughters, my heart breaks when one of my girls feels inferior based on other people’s perception of their appearance. If they could only see themselves like I do – or better than that – like God does.
The battle against focusing on our appearance as it pertains to our worth is worth waging.
When others try to pigeon-hole us into a certain “look” we are supposed to have, we can reflect on what God says about us, instead. Man looks on the outside, but the soul is what lasts forever.
God gave us eyes to see beauty, not to limit it. Beauty is not defined by one set of eyes or by many. God already defined our beauty by showing how worthy we were of His sacrificial love.
