Hope Discovery of the Day:

Each one of us has a unique calling that only we can fulfill.

Scripture of the Day:

Romans 12: 4-5

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

Surrounded by a great throng of women, all witnesses to the power of God in the room, we watched as mighty women of God went before us in their respective ministries, each imparting the treasures stored up in their hearts from an Almighty God. The holy hush across the crowd lingered as our hearts were inspired to minister authentically and to seek God for His will in our lives.

They did not have to sacrifice so much and endure such spiritual attack to shared their ministry secrets to spur us on. In a competitive world, it would seem cray-cray to do such a thing. But the kingdom mentality of arming thousands of women to go and be world changers has an eternal impact that far outweighed the pursuit of their own glory.

I have just returned from the She Speaks conference, which I am so beyond grateful to have attended for two years now. There is a dynamic at this conference that is rare. Women hugging the necks of other women they have never met before – each encouraging one another to continue to develop and share what God has placed in their hearts. What a picture of Heaven that must make our Heavenly Father smile.

As I watched the hands all lifted up in praise, I mused about God’s calling on all of our lives. We are all just servants of the Most High God, none more important, none less important than the other. Ministry is not just for leaders – it is for us all. We were all sent on a mission by Jesus Himself when He told us to go and preach to the outermost parts of the world and we will each be accountable for how we cultivated the gifts God placed within us and developed them for His glory. When we are tempted to think our voice is just a small whisper in a sea of others, God is so gracious to remind us of just how special we all are.

Each one of us has a unique calling that only we can fulfill. We each have our own unique story of how God relates to us and an audience that God has also uniquely prepared for that message. Some desperately need to hear the hope we carry that will light a spark within them to do the same. If you feel on the outskirts watching others move forward in their ministry, just know that you belong. You have a part to play, too. The world needs to hear your brand – another expression of Jesus to a hurting world. Be still and get busy. 🙂

Lord, thank You for the privilege of serving You! Help us to hear from Your heart the message that we should uniquely carry. May we steward what we have learned from those who have gone before us and apply it so we might be even more effective in reaching Your people with the amazing love and salvation that You have for us all.
