All About You

As a songwriter, there can be a real temptation to focus on self. Well, this really can happen in any pursuit we have on this earth. When we are concerned about what people think of us and our motives become transfixed on self, our goals are in vain.

There is such a beauty in expressing praise to God and acknowledging that all we have, all that we are and all that we do is not about us, after all. We were made for God’s glory and find our greatest joy when everything we do is with the goal of knowing God and making Him known.

This song was a sweet moment of worship for me. I was teaching a poetry class in a home educational co-op when I was struck with how everything God created pointed to our incredible God. Come and worship Him with me. Really worship Him. Think on His greatness and study His character. Be enveloped by His presence as you consider the deeds He has done on our behalf.
