Thankful Thought of the Day:
Thankfulness extinguishes anxiety.
I love the verse in Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.”
It serves as a reminder that when we are in EVERY type of situation, we can be thankful. It might take a big step of faith and our understanding might need to change about gratitude, but when we come before our perfect God with our troubles, we can be thankful that we can bring our problems to Him. And thankful that He takes our messes and turns them into a blessing. We offer our prayers in faith – this is where thanksgiving comes in – we believe our God hears us.
When we are truly thankful at all times because of who God is, we extinguish anxiety and sorrow in our lives and replace it with joy. Thankfulness and grumpiness cannot abide together. 🙂

I too love this verse. Not always great at managing it. Yet when I do, the results are amazing and even bad things don’t seem so bad. Need to practice it today, as have had a mixture of positive and negative blessings and I am sure it will help. For example, meeting at work caused anxiety- full and frank discussion. Didn’t get everything i wanted. Still, views were out in the open and shared. Cat ran out in front of my car. I slowed down in time and did not hit it. Late finishing at work and got a parking ticket. If I pay it quickly, the parking fine will be reduced by 50%. Was not in at home to receive new mobile phone from courier, due to working late. Courier didn’t call today, so that’s ok, I haven’t missed him.
I hope you see what I mean!
Love and blessings

Thanks for sharing! I know what you mean – life throws lots of curve balls. If we look carefully, we just might see a blessing even when things seem awful. God is amazing like that! Thank you for stopping by!
