Finding a woman’s worth in this world happens when she finds her worth in God’s word first.
John 8:10-11 (NIV)
“Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
Finding a Woman’s Worth in the World
We can all try to get our worth from the world surrounding us, but finding worth in the world will leave us feeling worthless.
The world around us tells us that our worth comes from what we own, or what we look like. But worth is not determined by man’s assessment.
Finding a Woman’s Worth in His Word
From beginning to end the Bible affirms women, who have intrinsic value because they—just as men—are created in God’s image.
God made women and men to represent Him. There is no greater worth than that.
The Worthy Controversy
The worth of women has been a subject of controversy from the very beginning. But a right understanding of the worth of women benefits everyone. In their book, “Worthy—Celebrating the Value of Women“, authors Elyse Fitzpatrick and Eric Schumacher share from the pages of Scripture the worth and role of women as prescribed by God.
Listen in to this episode as Denise interviews Elyse Fitzpatrick and Eric Schumacher as they dive into Scripture together to explore how women fit into the church’s redemption story and into the new world.
