James 1:17 (NIV):
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
God gives us gifts all year long, every day, not just at Christmas and His gifts are perfect. Today we are going to talk about a couple of those gifts. Sometimes we don’t think things are a gift from God, but when we walk with God, He uses everything for our good and His glory. And gifts come in all shapes and sizes. Listen in to this episode, where Deborah, Denise’s second daughter shares about the gifts of wisdom, healing and pain. In need of hope and encouragement? God is for you, friends. This year, as we celebrate Christmas, may we remember that the gifts of Christmas are not just on Christmas day, but all throughout our lives.
Wow! Just listened to your podcast with Deborah! And I am encouraged!
What a testimony you all are! Thank you all for your authenticity, and courage and perseverance!! I so love the fact that although the things that happen to us are sometimes so wrong and so NOT His will, He nevertheless IS able (and willing) to work ALL things together for good!! (To those who love the Lotd and are called to His purposes! )
It’s such a joy to see a family who allows God to bring the healing and restoration that He so wants to give! Precious to see Him shine through each of you!!!
Thank you, Trina! I am just so grateful for God changing our perspective in the midst and healing us for His glory. What a good, good God He is.
Great podcast, Deborah and Denise! Deborah, I’m so proud of your Godly perspective of allowing God to use the pain and shame from your past to bring healing from pain and shame to others by becoming a Christian counselor! It is incredibly mature for you to see, at your young age, that “Pain can be a gift” It’s obvious that God was preparing you, through your pain, for His higher purposes! I also appreciated the perspective you shared about being on the “hunt for healing” and hungering after God and after wisdom. It was great to hear you and your Mom walk through some of the story of your journey. I also appreciated (and was challenged) by your sharing about the importance of making a list and remembering how God has answered our prayers in the past and that they are reminders of His faithfulness. So true! It’s got to be cool for you to come home from college and see your “War Room”! 🙂 Denise, I also appreciated you sharing that “Struggling means we are staying in the fight”. Great perspective! (But I can’t believe you told all your kids…and their friends, that Santa Claus isn’t real! Brutal! LOL!) Like you said though, your kids have to know by now that you will never lie to them. Way to “train up your children in the way they should go” (even in the crisis seasons of life) and way to fight for them like a “Momma Bear”! Proud of you and each of your kids! Thank you both for sharing your hearts on this podcast!
Thank you, Jeff! Truly Christ is our strength and I am so grateful we can look back and see what He has done. He is merciful and faithful.
