Thankful Thought of the Day:

When we are overwhelmed in the moment we remember that our God is eternal and in complete control.

Scripture:

Revelation 11:17

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, for you have taken your great power and begun to reign.”

Life is overwhelming at times. Especially at the holidays. At times when anxiety tries to grip my heart with reality pressing in trying to steal our joy, I remember that our God is eternal. The Hebrew name of our Eternal God is El olam, meaning beyond sight in the past or the future (Strong’s concordance). Our God has no end and no beginning. The Greek word from the New Testament is aiōnios, meaning beyond time (ibid).

Trapped within this capsule of time, the concept of a God beyond time blows our mind. But then, worshiping an All-knowing God, we worship One Who is greater than we could ever imagine. An attempt to try to limit our definition of God, boxing Him into what we can understand with our minds would lead us to an errant belief taking away from His incredible majesty and would not produce the same awe that God deserves.

I am grateful that our God is outside time. He knows the end. His plans are good.
