Thankful Thought of the Day:
When God sends rain to the earth, it is a reminder of His constant provision and blessing on His people.
Scripture of the Day:
Psalm 147:7-9
“Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; Sing praises to our God on the lyre, Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who provides rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains. He gives to the beast its food, And to the young ravens which cry.”
The analogies flow abundantly when we think of rain. Songs and Scriptures speak of rain equating to challenging times as well as blessing. When God sends rain to the earth, it is a reminder of His constant provision and blessing on His people. But I wonder how many times we just take it for granted or even complain about it. It is an inconvenience to us – our hair will get wet. But then when we have a lack of rain, we complain, too. That is, unless we have our gratitude hat on.
The way God designed this earth is pure genius. The rain falls and soaks into the earth, then is circulated back in the system to fall at another time when we need it. Learning to trust God in the rain and appreciate His incredible wisdom, we become a thankful people who delight in God’s faithful provision.
We’ve made it to the end of 30 days of gratitude. I hope you have seen just how amazing and faithful our God is. We are loved with an everlasting love by our living God Who never forgets us. Grateful indeed. May we live out this gratitude all year long, when it rains and when it doesn’t – God is good all the time.
