Laying Down the Idols

Laying Down the Idols

Taming social media is not just about managing social media. Sometimes social media can take up too big of a place in our life. Idolatry can slip in, too. Laying down the idols of social media will take honesty and discipline.

Idols are not just a thing of the past—wooden statues and such. Idolatry happens every day in our hearts and minds without us realizing it. And idols don’t just distract us—they pull us away from what matters most.

Laying Down the Idols—Battling the Idols

1 John 5:19-21

“19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. 20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 21 Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.”

Join us on the Black and White Podcast as Denise and Dan wrap up this month’s dialogue regarding Social Media and discuss practical solutions to successfully overcome the idols and battles that social media can bring.
