Scripture of the Day:
Psalm 34:7-9 (ESV)
“The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack!”
Shame RX of the Day:
A life marked with the fear of God is not an ordinary life at all.
Fear of God

Joseph feared God. He loved God and sought to conduct himself in a way that honored God. When Pharaoh’s wife flattered Joseph and was tempting Joseph to cave to fleshly lust, Joseph’s fear of God won. A life marked with the fear of God is not an ordinary life at all. Some might think we are “goody tooshoos” to avoid evil because we have a higher principle of pleasing God. The culture around us wants us to join in with them as they seek to please self, but the soul who pleases God makes an impression far beyond the here and now.

Joseph released the fear of man and sought to please God above all else. Pursuing the will and favor of God in our lives rids us of shame because we are no longer held captive by man’s opinion. Man’s opinion is fickle and temporary, but God’s lasts forever.
