As we celebrate Easter, we remember that Christ bore our sins. Sometimes we can still carry around shame from our sins. But there is no more shame for those who have believed in Jesus’ name!
No more condemnation
There is, therefore, NOW no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Rom 8:1). This is a fact. No condemnation. No shame. No more sins being remembered. In light of the good news of salvation Christ brought, we are no longer bound in the chains of regret.
No more fear
Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). You are loved, friend. Perfectly loved. Not based on anything you have done. Just the beautiful grace of Christ that covers all your sins and shame. Shame speaks of fear that we are not enough—and the truth is we aren’t, but Christ is.
No more guilt
Shame and guilt are related but different. “Shame is a feeling that you have done something wrong and that makes you a bad person. Guilt is a feeling you get when you did something wrong, or perceive you did something wrong.” Even if you have guilt for your sins, the Bible says that all our guilt is washed away.
“For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.” —Hebrews 10:22-23.
Have you been washed, friends? Have you repented and asked Christ to bear your sin? If so, you are forgiven, and your shame and guilt are washed away. Walk in the shame-free life, friends! This is what Christ achieved for you! Shame Off You!
