“Make every effort to present yourself before God as a proven worker who does not need to be ashamed, teaching the message of truth accurately.”
Ever feel ashamed for a mistake you have made? Maybe you felt shunned or disregarded for a lack of discernment on your part. Maybe even other Christians have labeled you and you scramble trying to cover your bases to make sure no one perceives you in a wrong light.
Phew that is tiring, isn’t it? We could never cover all our shame and shame seems to reproduce in massive quantities in all of life. But we can deal with it biblically. Getting into God’s Word opens the eyes of our heart to understand we could never be good enough and Christ bore every imperfection. When we are diligent in the study of God’s Word, God meets us there every time. He renews our perspective and purifies our souls.
This Christian walk is not a once and done transaction. It is a relationship. An odd one at that. The imperfect, sinless enemies of a Holy, Righteous, perfect God are pardoned and labeled as righteous and forgiven. Shame off us!
